Macarena Bonhomme is associate professor in the Doctorate in Social Sciences at the Universidad Autónoma de Chile, young researcher of the Millennium Nucleus on Digital Inequalities and Opportunities (NUDOS), and adjunct researcher of the Centre for Social Conflict and Cohesion Studies (COES). She holds a PhD in Sociology from Goldsmiths, University of London, and a MSc in Culture and Society from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She was awarded the LASA/OXFAM Martin Diskin Dissertation Award 2020 by the Latin American Studies Association (LASA) for her doctoral dissertation on racism and exclusion of migrants in Chile. In her current FONDECYT Postdoctoral project (No. 3220193), she examines the labor experiences and forms of resistance of Latin American and Caribbean migrants working on food-delivery platforms. Her areas of research and recent publications focus on international migration, racism, ethnicity, racialization processes, coexistence, cultural and urban studies, racism in the media, migrant labor and digital platforms.
