Public Administrator (UDEC) and Master in Social Research Methods (UDP), Cristóbal is currently a research assistant in the politics division of NUDOS. In addition to his work at NUDOS, he has served as qualitative research coordinator for the IDEClab project at the University of Concepción, and as research assistant in projects at the University of Los Lagos (CEDER) and the Alberto Hurtado University (Public Administration). At the latter, he is currently part of a FONDECYT project that investigates political discretion in the allocation of resources from the central government to municipalities during emergencies. In this context, he has worked with municipal-level panel data, applying fixed-effects models, multilevel models, and quasi-experimental designs to analyze political bias in resource distribution.

His research interests lie at the intersection of state, territory, and inequality, with emphasis on decent work, political participation, and the allocation of public resources in critical contexts. He specializes in the analysis of public and administrative data using the R programming language for quantitative research. In the academic field, he has taught qualitative research at Universidad Andrés Bello, as well as R courses focused on public data analysis at Universidad Alberto Hurtado.
